NEW Council of Ministers announced 15 December 2006

THE new Chief Minister of the Isle of Man, Tony Brown MHK, has today (Friday, December 15, 2006) announced his Council of Ministers team to head the departments of government.

Mr Brown commented:

‘I believe this new Council of Ministers provides a good combination of experience and fresh input to take the Island forward, working in partnership with Tynwald and the wider community.
‘The overall priorities of the Isle of Man Government will remain the development of our economy, the encouragement of quality employment opportunities and the delivery of efficient and effective public services.’

The new Council of Ministers comprises Mr Brown plus the following nine Ministers in charge of:

  • Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry – Mr Phil Gawne MHK
  • Education – Mrs Anne Craine MHK
  • Health and Social Security – Mr Eddie Teare MHK
  • Home Affairs – Mr Martyn Quayle MHK
  • Local Government and the Environment – Mr John Shimmin MHK
  • Tourism and Leisure – Mr Adrian Earnshaw MHK
  • Trade and Industry – Mr David Cretney MHK
  • Transport – Mr David Anderson MHK
  • Treasury – Mr Allan Bell MHK
