Launch of TT 2007 Centenary stamps and collectables 21 December 2006

The Philatelic Bureau of Isle of Man Post Office is delighted to announce that the launch of the 2007 TT Centenary Stamps and Collectables range will be on January 1, 2007.

Regent Street Post Office in Douglas will be open between 10am and 11am for the public to come and see first hand the fantastic range of merchandise available, some of which has been produced in conjunction with Duke and Lily Publications. If you have an interest in the TT we invite you to come and join us to toast the start of the TT Centenary year and remember all the heroes and supporters of the “Greatest Road Races in the World”.

Weather permitting sidecar racing legend Dave Molyneux will be doing a lap of the TT course on a motorbike carrying 100 signed first day covers and finishing at Regent Street Post Office. He, along with the newly appointed Tourism Minister the Honourable Adrian Earnshaw MHK, will be officially launching the collectables and the first ten covers will be given to TT related charities with the remainder being sold on a first come first served basis priced at £20.00 each.

Meanwhile all the merchandise from the TT Centenary Collectables range will be on sale. Items include TT postcards featuring the top ten TT greats, mint stamp sheet folders packed with nostalgic imagery from 100 years of road racing in the Isle of Man, Isle of Man Treasury TT coins and the TT 100 book which contains the TT stamps bound into the publication.

If you can’t make the launch on New Year’s Day don’t worry, you can still buy any TT Centenary Collectable from our website www.iomttraces.com or at Post Offices and retail outlets around the Island from January 2, 2007.
