Departmental Memberships and Statutory Board Chairmanships 22 December 2006

THE Council of Ministers has agreed the appointment of the following Members to the Departments of Government:

• Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry – Mr Dudley Butt MLC, Mr Graham Cregeen MHK, Mrs Brenda Cannell MHK

Education – Mr Bill Henderson MHK, Mr Eddie Lowey MLC

• Health and Social Security – Mr Juan Watterson MHK, Mrs Pamela Crowe MLC

• Home Affairs – Mr Tim Crookall MHK, Mr George Waft MLC

• Local Government and the Environment – Mrs Clare Christian MLC, Mr Dudley Butt MLC, Mr Juan Watterson MHK

• Tourism and Leisure – Mr Geoff Corkish MHK, Mr Quintin Gill MHK

• Trade and Industry – Mr Geoff Corkish MHK, Mr Quintin Gill MHK

• Transport – Mr Tim Crookall MHK, Mr David Quirk MHK

• Treasury – Mr Phil Braidwood MHK, Mr Alex Downie MLC

The Council of Ministers has also agreed to propose the following chairmanships of Statutory Boards, subject to approval by Tynwald:

Manx Electricity Authority – Mr Eddie Teare MHK

Isle of Man Post – Mrs Pamela Crowe MLC

Water Authority – Mr David Cannan MHK

Office of Fair Trading – Mr Quintin Gill MHK

The Council of Ministers has re-appointed Mrs Clare Christian MLC as Chairman of the Planning Committee under the provisions of the 1999 Town and Country Planning Act.

Note: Mr John Houghton MHK is off-Island and his role in Government is subject to confirmation.
