HSBC Manx Youth Games - Coaches Presentation Evening 9 January 2007

Manx Sport and Recreation’s Sports Development Unit will be facilitating a presentation evening for all coaches, volunteers and officials that will be involved in the 2007 HSBC Manx Youth Games. It will take place at Keyll Darree Lecture Theatre, Nobles Hospital, at 6.00pm, on Monday 15 January 2007.

The HSBC MYG training sessions will commence from 20 January, with 12 sports facilitating over 50 sessions around the Island, on weekly basis in the build up to the big event on 12 May 2007.

All Coaches that are involved in the Games this year are urged to attend this important evening, which will be a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the excellent work that many coaches, and volunteers, around the Island have made a significant contribution to.

Paul Bridson, Sports Development Manager said: ‘It will be extremely useful to bring together lots of Coaches from so many different sports. The Sports Development Team are hugely appreciative of the impact these people have on children’s lives, and indeed their health, by helping them develop self esteem, confidence and social well being through sport. This is our chance to thank them, and to also share with them, the ongoing benefits to Sport on the Island that the HSBC Manx Youth Games generates.’

The Sports Development Team will be conducting several short presentations which will feature the first public screening of the 2006 HSBC Manx Youth Games video and success stories from previous years. It will also feature opportunities for children with disabilities, and the exciting developments that are planned for Coach Education, and an Isle of Man Coaches Association in 2007.

Paul continues: ‘Our sponsors, HSBC, have kindly agreed to provide some prizes for the evening – including an Ipod which will be presented to Coaches following a random draw of those that attend. In addition Manx Sport and Recreation will be distributing a handful of swim and gym vouchers to use at the NSC.
