Bands night to boost school appeal 18 January 2007

BANDS are joining forces for a giant concert to boost a school's charity appeal.

Via their Mad4Ciu appeal, St Ninian's High School students are aiming to raise £30,000 to build a school for 300 in Kiwumu, Uganda.

The appeal already stands at £20,000 and will be further boosted by Live4Ciu, which will be held at the Villa Marina Royal Hall on February 15.

Year 13 business studies students are organising the event as part of their coursework, which asks them to research, plan and stage a major event and evaluate its success.

Signed up so far are Twisted Angels, Samantha Barks, Different Breed, Stephanie Clift and Stone Creation, along with Joey Wilde and Amanda Litherland. Other well-known bands are also being appraoched.

The event, which starts at 7.30pm, will be hosted by pupil Alex Snell.

Tickets are £5 from the school on 648800
