Leece Lodge Cottages 28 February 2007

The Department of Health and Social Security have decided to reopen Leece Lodge Cottages and to utilise the two properties for accommodation for staff employed at Nobles Hospital.

It is now over five years since the tragedy took place in one of these properties. A spokesperson for the Department advised that they are aware of the views of the relatives of the young people involved in the tragedy, that the buildings should be demolished. However, there is a pressing need for the houses and the Department has instructed that the buildings are renovated in time for TT Practice week and that they are made available for the extra staff that are required to provide hospital cover during this busy period.
