Sea Life Competition – Entries Welcome 30 March 2007

The Department of Tourism and Leisure has launched a ‘sea life’ competition.

Locals and visitors are being asked to send in their best photographs or video clips, of any sea life spotted in the waters around the Isle of Man, especially whales, sharks and dolphins. There are two categories, shore sightings and sea sightings, and the best received will win a meal for 2 people at their favourite restaurant.

Tourism Minister Adrian Earnshaw said:

‘Holding a competition to capture images of sea life is a great way for us to acquire new material for the Department’s library. I expect it will be extremely difficult to select the winners but I’m looking forward to seeing the entries.’

The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers. Emails must be sent in a jpeg format to Video clips, up to one minute in length and maximum size 5mg, and photographs should be sent to Anna Hemy, Department of Tourism and Leisure, St Andrew’s House, Finch Road, Douglas. IM1 2PX. The closing date is Friday 28 September 2007.

Full rules are on the Department’s website and entrants should refer to the News section on the Manx Whale and Dolphin Watch website for advice and are asked to adhere to the DAFF Code of Conduct.
