Financial Sanctions: Burma/Myanmar 4 May 2007

This news release is issued following the publication of Commission Regulation 481/2007/EC in respect of financial sanctions taken against Burma/Myanmar.

The list of targeted persons set out in the Annex to Commission Regulation (EC) No 481/2007 replaces the list in Annex III to Council Regulation (EC) No 817/2006.

The amendments made by the Commission take the form of additional names, deleted names and updated identifiers.

Financial institutions and other persons are requested to check whether they maintain any accounts or otherwise hold any funds, other financial assets, economic benefits or economic resources for the named individuals and, if so, they should freeze the accounts or other funds or assets and immediately report their findings to the Sanctions Officer at Customs and Excise.

Further details of the sanctions regime related to Burma/Myanmar and links to the consolidated list of individuals and entities subject to these sanctions may be found on the Customs and Excise pages of the Isle of Man Government web site.
