The Registry, which follows the success of the Island’s Yacht Registry, is aimed at business and private jet owners and the official launch saw two brand new executive jets registered on the very first day.

Marking May 1st as truly a red letter day for Airport, it is also saw a change of Airport licence holder as new director Ann Reynolds officially took over the reins from the retiring Philip Pain, who stood down after 18 years in the post.

‘It’s a significant date in the Airport’s history,’ said Mrs Reynolds, who has been working alongside Mr Pain for the last four months to ensure a smooth transition.
‘The launch of the Isle of Man Aircraft Registry is the culmination of a lot of hard work behind the scenes by many people.
‘It offers the Manx economy an exciting new business opportunity and it’s one that everyone here at the Airport and within the Department of Trade and Industry is keen to make an unqualified success.’
