Criminal Justice (Money Laundering) Code 2007 28 August 2007

The Commission has been notified that the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering) Code 2007 has been signed by the Minister and will come into effect on the 1 September 2007. This Code will revoke and replace the Anti-Money Laundering Code 2007 which will in turn revoke the Anti-Money Laundering Code 1998 (as amended).

The Criminal Justice (Money Laundering) Code 2007 contains minor amendments made following the latest consultation on the Anti-Money Laundering Code 2007. In addition, it further extends the list of countries at Schedule 2 to include Argentina, Bermuda, Brazil, Cayman Islands and Mauritius.

Amendments will be made to the Commission’s Anti-Money Laundering Guidance Notes in due course.
