Badminton Holds 1st New UKCC Level 1 Coaching Course 27 September 2007

After much anticipation, the first new format of badminton coaching courses has been arranged on the Island. The courses have only recently become available and now come in line with the United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (UKCC) standards.

The course dates are Sunday 11th November, Saturday 24th November and Saturday 1st December at the National Sports Centre.

Whilst the idea of a 3 day course can seem daunting, this is only to ensure that the basics are learned properly and that candidates are comfortable in their own ability to coach once the course is completed.

The criteria for eligibility on the course is simply that candidates must be at least 16 years old, have some playing experience and can participate in a short rally; or have understanding of the game and the technical aspects involved in a short rally.
