Unique service to the Channel Islands 8 October 2007

Isle of Man Post Office is pleased to announce that following discussions between the two Channel Islands’ Post Offices – Jersey Post and Guernsey Post Office and the airline Blue Islands - mail posted in the islands will be flown directly between each island from Monday 8th October 2007.

These arrangements have been put in place as a result of the national postal strikes in the UK and the effect they are having on post to and from the islands. These contingency arrangements will provide a two-day service to the Channel Islands and will remain in place for the duration of the strikes.

Mike Kelly, Chief Operating Officer, of Isle of Man Post Office, said: “We are delighted to make the announcement about this unique service to our customers. During this period of industrial action we are continuing to make every effort to minimise the disruption the strikes in the UK cause our customers.”
