New mains being installed through Birch Hill Estate 29 October 2007

The Isle of Man Water Authority, along with its main contractor for this scheme, Auldyn Construction Limited, will begin work on the installation of 700 metres of 400mm-diameter trunk main on Monday, 5th November 2007 through the Birch Hill estate.

The 12-week contract will commence pipe laying on Highfield Close, running the length of Highfield Crescent to its junction with Hillberry Road. All work will be carried out under approved Department of Transport traffic management and by a rolling works scheme.

Work in Highfield Close will take approximately three weeks and during this period it will be necessary to close this road only.

The new main will transfer treated water from the Cronk ny Mona service reservoir through to Top Grawe service reservoir which supplies the Laxey area.

The Isle of Man Water Authority and Auldyn Construction apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank residents for their understanding and patience.
