West Baldwin Reservoir - new bypass main - temporary road closure 5 November 2007

The Isle of Man Water Authority’s contractor, Island Drainage and Groundwork, is making good progress on the installation of a new 2.2 km water main to the west of Injebreck Reservoir, West Baldwin.

The purpose of this main is to allow the Water Authority to supply raw water from the Sulby Reservoir to the new Water Treatment Works in Douglas, should the need ever arise. This main is crucial to our stategic planning.

Work commenced in August 2007 with a scheduled completion date of February 2008. As part of this scheme it is necessary to close the West Baldwin Road (B22) between its junction with the Ballamodda Road (C9) and its junction with the Beinn-y-Phott Road (B10) to vehicular and pedestrian access for a period of six weeks commencing on Monday 12th November 2007, with a scheduled re-opening date of Friday, 21st December 2007. The road will be open for the Christmas and New Year period.

The Isle of Man Water Authority and Island Drainage and Groundwork apologise for any inconvenience caused by this essential work. If you have any enquiries please contact our Customer Services Team on 695949.
