Third Party Damage cuts supply to Airport 8 January 2008

A main MEA 11kV (11,000 volt) cable was struck by a third party at 8am this morning causing an outage which included loss of supply to Ronaldsway Airport. The outage occurred at Balthane Industrial Estate between 8am and 8.43am.

It is not known how long the Airport was without supply as it has its own back-up facility, however, the MEA would very much like to stress the importance of Dialling Before You Dig as it is extremely clear the importance of supply to this particular location.
