NSC Christmas Swimming Success 16 January 2008

The National Sports Centre have recently hosted a heavily discounted ‘swimming special’ from the 27th December to 30th December 2007. This period is traditionally the quietest period of the year for the NSC.

Customers only had to pay £1.00 for adults and 50p for children to swim. The initiative was a huge success and resulted in a 60% increase in casual swimming participation for the four day period, in comparison to the same period in 2006.

Tourism and Leisure Minister Adrian Earnshaw said:

‘Hopefully the initiative will act as a catalyst for many people to increase the popularity of swimming. It is important for everyone to participate in regular exercise in order to keep active and fit and the NSC is an excellent facility to achieve that aim.’

If you would like information about the NSC programme of activities please contact the reception on 688588.
