Department Expands its Inland Fisheries Website 12 February 2008

The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry’s Inland Fisheries website has been extended to include a series of pages by the River Management Project Officer covering river management issues.

The new pages include information and photographs covering Manx watercourse wildlife, management of the Island’s rivers and streams, conservation issues, and recent and forthcoming project initiatives. They can be accessed here.

River Management Project Officer, Karen Galtress said ‘The website aims to be a kind of one-stop shop for anyone seeking advice and information on the Isle of Man’s rivers and streams, which are such a vital and beautiful element of its natural heritage. I would be pleased to hear from anyone with any comments or further suggestions for the website’.

The River Management Project is a three-year initiative joint-sponsored by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, the Department of Transport and the Department of Local Government and the Environment to help promote good practice in management of the Island’s watercourses both within and outside of Government.

Comments and suggestions can be given to Karen by contacting her on 651544/450736 or by emailing
