MEA Tariffs 18 February 2008

The MEA has today released details of changes to its Home Generation and Private Generation Tariffs and has introduced a new tariff for Embedded Generation which will be available from 1 April 2008.

We are pleased to inform customers that the standing charge rebate for the Home Generation tariff will continue until 31 March 2010.

For customers who have installed Private Generation (CHP units) to provide heating and electricity the MEA can now offer a two rate tariff, enabling customers to benefit from a cheaper off peak rate over night, subject to meeting the required load profile.

The new Embedded Generation Tariff has been developed to aid customers who install a large generation unit and expect to export a significant amount of electricity to the MEA network.

These tariffs may be reviewed following the implementation phase of the Government Energy Policy. Should customers require additional information regarding the introduction of these new Tariffs, they can contact the Authority directly on 687687
