Activity sessions for children with additional needs at the NSC during Easter half-term 5 March 2008

The school holidays are fast approaching and with this in mind, the Department of Tourism and Leisure’s Sports Development Unit has arranged 44 fully inclusive sports sessions during the Easter half term.

The programme includes two ‘Multi Sport’ sessions specifically designed for children with additional needs, many of whom find it difficult to concentrate for long periods of time. Multi Sport uses a collection of different sports and activities to engage children in a series of short sessions and highlights their skills to help them identify which sports they are most suited to and may wish to pursue. The Indoor Multi Sport Sessions will be taking place at the NSC from 10.00 am until 12.00 noon on the 25th March and 1st April 2008.

The Sports Development Unit has a wealth of specialist sports activity equipment which offers physical and social benefits to children with additional needs, and all sessions are facilitated by qualified coaches.

The Minister for Tourism and Leisure, Adrian Earnshaw said

“The Easter Programme at the NSC aims to provide a variety of sporting activities for children of all abilities. I am sure that the indoor multi-sports sessions will prove to be very popular and I would urge parents to book early to avoid disappointment”.

If you require an application form for the Easter Programme please contact Dave Callaghan on 688559.
