Noble’s Hospital Nursing Times Top 100 Awards 11 April 2008

The Nursing Times Top 100 Awards honours the very best in employment practice for nurses and midwives, it is a survey of the best 100 nursing employers and this year, Noble’s Hospital has gained a prestigious place in that Top 100.

Hon W E Teare MHK, Minister for Health and Social Security said,

“We are very pleased that Noble’s Hospital has been recognised in this esteemed list. The Nurses and midwives at Noble’s continue to do a wonderful job and we are delighted that their hard work and commitment has been acknowledged.”

Bev Critchlow, Director of Nursing, Midwifery & Professional Development said,

“Being a good employer has never been more important in attracting and retaining the very best staff in pursuit of high quality patient services. We are in a very competitive global market. To be recognised in this way is a great achievement. Hundreds of healthcare employers from all across the British Isles will have been judged and for Noble’s Hospital to be in the Top 100 is a real accolade.”

The Awards are organised and sponsored by the national nursing journal, the Nursing Times. The factors that win recognition for organisations include strong nursing leadership, flexible and family friendly working policies, openness, an ability to listen to staff and a strong commitment to training and development.

The Hospital was chosen after a confidential survey was distributed by the Nursing Times to 60 of the hospital’s nursing staff and the responses scrutinised by a team of judges.

The judges report on Noble’s Hospital read;

Noble’s Hospital is a fairly new hospital with state of the art facilities, nurses speak highly of working conditions and the care they can deliver. Those (nurses) with illnesses or disabilities have been redeployed into other roles and staff say they are well supported by management. Around half the staff are from the Island.”
