Tune in to BBC1 at 6.00pm on Saturday and Vote for Sam 28 May 2008

Tune in to BBC1 at 6.00pm on Saturday and Vote for Sam. Everyone is waiting with bated breath to see whether Isle of Man’s own musical superstar, Sam Barks, will be chosen to play the role of Nancy in the forthcoming West End Musical ‘Oliver!’.

Sam was saved by Andrew Lloyd Webber in Sunday night's sing off and will now compete with the remaining finalists, Jodie Prenger and Jessie Buckley, in the final this Saturday.

In recognition of her achievement, tourism bosses have renamed the Island the ‘Isle of Sam’ in her honour. Tourism and Leisure Minister Adrian Earnshaw said:

We are all rooting for Nancy this weekend and wish her the very best of luck. She has certainly done very well indeed to get to the final in the competition and deserves to play the role of Nancy. Her performances have been consistent and faultless throughout the weeks and I’m sure this will be the start of a long career in the West End.’

Tune in to BBC1 at 6.00pm this Saturday 31st May and vote for Sam – she needs your votes
