Holiday venture Schemes launched by Youth Service 28 May 2008

The Youth Service is launching its traditional Holiday Venture Schemes.

This year nine schemes will be run over five weeks at various venues. Children in current school years 4 to 8 can sign up for a single day or a whole week. The cost is £18 a day and £80 a week. There are special rates if more than one child from the same family takes part.

The application form can be downloaded below or is availably by ringing the Youth Office on 686057. Forms will be available in schools from 9 June.

In the week beginning 28 July, there are schemes operating at Cronk-y-Berry Primary School youth wing, Pulrose Youth Centre and Castletown Youth Centre, the former remaining a venue for the next two weeks as well.

An arts scheme will run at Douglas Youth Centre in the weeks commencing 4 and 11 August. This may involve alot of arts and crafts on a large scale so these weeks may only be booked in week blocks.

The final two schemes are a partnership venture between the Youth Service and the Isle of Man Children's Centre. They will be held on the weeks beginning 18 August and 26 August at the Phillip Christian Centre and Peel Youth Centre. Again these schemes may be booked on a daily or weekly basis.

Schemes run from 9am-4pm , with a break for a packed lunch from 12 noon to 1pm.

Cheques should be made payable to the Isle of Man Government.
