Isle of Man Badminton Association Offers Opportunity to Learn About Coaching 21 August 2008

The Isle of Man Badminton Association is planning something a little different for its coaching programme during the 2008-2009 season! Prior to running a Level 1 coaching course during November and December 2008, it is holding a free coaching taster session at the National Sports Centre (NSC) to give people a fun and informative experience of basic coaching.

This free session will be run on Sunday 21st September 2008 at the NSC, from 2pm to 4pm. It is open to juniors and seniors of all standards with the aim to give people more confidence in their knowledge and ability to coach.

It is then hoped the attendees will feel comfortable in progressing on to the Level 1 coaching award, which will be held on November 16th, 29th and December 7th at the NSC.

The Level 1 award is ideal for club standard players (16 years or older) to learn about the basics of coaching beginners and may also help them with their own level of play!

Level 1 coaches are qualified to assist sessions under the guidance of a more qualified or experienced coach. This can be at school, local club or any session involving beginners to the game.

For further information, or to register your interest on the free taster session or the level 1 coaching award, please contact Dominic on (01624) 651572 or email: dominic.hobdell@gov.im.
