New Director of Human Resource Management for DHSS 22 October 2008

The Department of Health and Social Security are pleased to announce the appointment of Julia Kaye to the position of Director of Human Resource Management (HRM) within the Department.

Lesley Keenan, DHSS Chief Operating Officer said,

“I am delighted that Julia has been appointed as the new Director of HRM. Julia will bring a new perspective to this strategic role and I look forward to working with her as she develops the HR agenda within the Department.”

Julia started her career in retail management before moving into the utilities industry, where she spent 10 years with the Manx Electricity Authority, her last post being Finance and Customer Service Manager. Since moving to work in the Isle of Man Government in 1999, Julia has worked in the Central Government Personnel Offices as Recruitment Manager and Employee Relations Advisor, before moving to the DHSS in 2003 to take up post of HRM Support Manager, within the HRM Directorate.

Over the past year, Julia has been studying for the Graduate CIPD qualifications, the results of which are imminent and will allow her to upgrade her membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development to Charted status. Julia also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management.

Julia has recently finished a two and a half year secondment as Project Manager for the modernisation of pay, terms and conditions for health and mental health services staff.

Julia Kaye, New Director of Human Resources said,

“I am delighted to have been offered the post of Director and to progress my career within the Isle of Man Government. I have an excellent team of staff to support me and I look forward to working within this challenging role.”
