Police Consultative Forum seeks to recruit new member 14 October 2008

WPC on dutyMEMBERS of the community who are keen to play a part in developing links between the IoM Constabulary and Manx public are being invited to apply for a position with the Police Consultative Forum.

The independent organisation, established in 1998 to gather views about policing and crime prevention issues, is currently seeking to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of one of its members. The Forum comprises nine district representatives – two for the west, south and north, and three for the east.

A new member is required for the eastern region and applications from residents of Douglas, Onchan or Laxey should be submitted to PCF administrator Sharon Baldwin by October 30. Interested parties must demonstrate a sound understanding of their local district and the ability to work alongside the IoM Constabulary and Department of Home Affairs to further improve relations between the police and the community.

Forum chairman Bob Jeavons said:

‘This is a challenging and rewarding role and we are looking for somebody with the drive to make an important contribution towards community safety in the Isle of Man.’
