Duke of Edinburgh's Award annual presentation evening 22 September 2008

Tomorrow evening (Tuesday), the Isle of Man Duke of Edinburgh’s Award will be holding its annual presentation of certificates to young people.

This year more than 70 young people and guests are attending the event at the Gaiety Theatre, Douglas.

Certificates will be presented for bronze, silver and gold awards together with long service certificates for adult helpers. Education Minister Anne Craine MHK will do the honours.

The evening starts at 7pm and entertainment is being provided by the band No Questions Asked, whose members used music to complete their skills section of the award.

Alison Crowe, Project Worker for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, said: 'This event is a celebration of the achievements of local young people, who have to complete four sections: Volunteering, skills, physical, expedition and, for the Gold Award only, residential.'
