Isle of Man Government Online Services Project named finalist in UK e-Government National Awards. 27 November 2008

e-Government Awards Finalist 2008 logoTreasury Information Systems Division are delighted to announce that the Government Online Services Programme has been named as a finalist in the UK’s prestigious e-Government National Awards. The Programme, code named “OneMann”, has been shortlisted in the “Central e-Government Excellence for Team Working” category.

The organisers reported a record 588 entries into the awards which are the UK’s highest level commendation for the best e-Government services, with the Isle of Man Government making it into the 68 finalists. The awards highlight the most effective Government services which are improving citizen and business transactions with councils, central government departments and other public sector organisations.

In the Team Working category, OneMann is shortlisted along with the UK DVLA Driver Validation Service, the NHS Connecting for Health programme, the Scottish Government’s eProcurement Scotland team, the UK e-Borders project and the programme aligning the UK’s Directgov, Businesslink and NHS Choices.

Allan Paterson, Director of Treasury Information Systems Division commented:

“Our shortlist as a finalist for these prestigious awards is further recognition for the Online Services Programme Team which, in just 2 years, has built a truly “shared” set of online services. These services will progressively enable a wide range of infrastructure and business services that are transforming Government interactions with citizens and businesses and it is the effective team working with ISD, its supplier partners, and Government Departments, Boards and Offices that makes this Programme a success.”

The winners will be presented with their awards on 20th January 2009 at a dinner in the City of London by Minister Tom Watson MP and Government CIO John Suffolk.
