Landlords and the Hospitality Trade must prepare for Digital 28 November 2008

Housing providers and the hospitality trade on the Isle of Man must start preparing to ensure their properties can receive digital TV in time for digital switchover, which starts on the Isle of Man on 18 June 2009.

Digital UK is about to hold special meetings about digital switchover for housing managers and the hospitality trade on the Isle of Man.

There will be two sessions on Tuesday 16 December at the Isle of Man Business School, The Nunnery, Old Castletown Road, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM2 1QB.

  • Session 1 10.00 - 12 noon for housing providers
  • Session 2 12.30 – 2.00 for the hospitality trade

Frances Kneller, Digital UK's Head of Housing and Property will answer questions and explain how housing providers and the hospitality trade must prepare for the switchover if their tenants or customers aren’t to be left without television.

Those who would like to attend please contact: Helen.Bennett@digitaluk.co.uk

Digital advice centres for the general public will also be taking place across the Isle of Man over the coming months.

Almost all viewers on the Isle of Man will start switching to digital on 18 June 2009 when analogue television is turned off at the Douglas transmitter group and replaced by a new digital signal.

Viewers who receive Granada TV will switch on 4 November 2009.

Digital UK has worked with the Chartered Institute of Housing to produce a good practice guide called “Calling all landlords”, endorsed by the CLG and the Housing Corporation; it can be downloaded from www.digitaluk.co.uk/propertymanagers.
