National Holocaust Memorial Service 2009 13 January 2009

The Isle of Man’s National Holocaust Memorial Service will be held this year at St George’s Church, Douglas at 3pm on Sunday January 25.

The annual service is co-ordinated by the Office of the Council of Ministers and was first held on the Island in 2001 in line with national commemorations in the United Kingdom.

All are welcome to attend.

Holocaust Memorial Day is a time to remember all the innocent victims of Nazi persecution, and to remind ourselves that evil ideologies and regimes are not necessarily a thing of the past. It is a time to renew our commitment to the civilised values of a tolerant and democratic society, which are fundamental to our Island way of life.
