Companies Registry – Companies Act 2006 16 October 2009

The Commission is pleased to announce the introduction of a new service as part of our on-going commitment to support the Island’s economy and its development as an international finance sector.

During the week of 19th October 2009 the Companies Registry will start writing to every 2006 Act Company that is due to file an annual return reminding them their return is due. The reminder will normally be sent 6 weeks before the return data. We will also send a partially completed “shuttle” annual return which includes any pertinent information that is already on file.

If the company has elected to disclose details of its directors, this information will be included in the annual return. If it is the first annual return or the company has not elected to disclose this information it must include a summary of every appointment and change that has occurred during the previous year on the enclosed continuation sheet.

The registered agent must, within one month of the company’s return date send a copy to the Companies Registry with the annual return fee. The company’s return date means the anniversary of the company’s incorporation.
