The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure is delighted to announce that the Broadway Cinema is going 3D this September. With a new state of the art digital projector, the Broadway Cinema will be home to the most advanced 3D experience in the Island.

Hon David Cretney MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure said,

“The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure strives to offer the best leisure and entertainment facilities for everyone in the Isle of Man. With so many of the latest and best films being made for 3D viewing, I am delighted that the Broadway Cinema is now able to offer this to our customers."

The Minister continued,

“3D is just one of the many benefits of the new digital projection equipment at the Broadway Cinema. There are also great operational advantages. The new projection facilities will allow the Broadway Cinema to be more cost effective with greatly reduced shipping costs and more efficient with reduced delivery timescales. So the new projector offers greater quality for customers and greater efficiency and value for the Broadway Cinema.”

The first film to be given the full 3D treatment at the Broadway Cinema will be the latest instalment of the smash hit zombie action/thriller ‘Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D (cert 18). The film premieres on Friday 10th September. Click here to view the trailer

Tickets go on sale Monday 30th August priced £8. Children’s tickets for suitably certified 3D movies will be £6. Call the Ticket Hotline on 01624 600555, visit the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal or pay on the door at the Villa Marina.

Following the installation, the Broadway Cinema will have the most technologically advanced cinema in the Isle of Man; capable of streaming full 3D live events such as concerts, opera live from New York and major sporting events.

The new digital projector will also become the primary projector for presentations and conferences at the Broadway Cinema. This means our clients will be able to utilise the most advanced digital projector on the Island and play their presentations in quality greater than domestic high definition.
