Emergency closures 28 April 2011

In order to carry out essential resurfacing work at critical locations on the TT course the Department proposes to implement the following road closures next week.

Ballagarey Road

This will be a closure of the end of Ballagarey Road at the Junction with Peel Road and will be required on the evening of Tuesday 3 May between 18:30 to 22:30. It is required to allow carriageway planing operations to be carried out on the main Peel Road which will prevent traffic from entering or leaving Ballagarey Road. The following evening on Wednesday 4 May the main road will be resurfaced requiring a further closure of Ballagarey Road commencing at 18:30 and remaining in place overnight until 06:30 on Wednesday morning. The A1 Peel Road will remain open throughout however when planing and resurfacing works are being carried out traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals.

Quarterbridge Road / Selborne Road

In addition resurfacing works are proposed on Quarterbridge Road at the Selborne Road junction. These works are to be carried out on the evenings of Wednesday 4 May and Thursday 5 May which will entail closures of Quarterbridge Road and the end of Selborne Road between 18:30 and 22:30 on each evening. In addition the end of Selborne Road will need to remain closed overnight on the Thursday in order to prevent damage to the new surface by turning vehicles.

The Department will endeavour to minimise disruption to the travelling public and apologises for any inconvenience that these works may cause.
