Sell-out TT3D film will be screened throughout May and TT 6 May 2011
The Broadway Cinema in Douglas is to continue screening the critically acclaimed Manx-made movie TT3D: Closer to the Edge, in response to consistently high demand for tickets.
It commenced screenings at 9.15pm in the Villa Marinas 150-seat cinema on April 22. To date over 3,300 tickets have been sold. Many of the screenings were completely sold out resulting in its run being extended until 12 May.
Ongoing high demand for tickets for the TT3D film has prompted management to reduce the run of action movie Source Code to one week only, showing at 7pm from today (6 May) until Thursday 12 May. TT3D will then be screened nightly at 7.30pm from next Friday (13 May) until Friday 27 May, with matinees at 2.30pm on Wednesdays. With ticket sales expected to increase during the TT fortnight, TT3D will also be screened three times daily at 11am, 7.30pm and 10.15pm from Saturday 28 May to Friday 10 June inclusive.
Hon David Cretney MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure, said:
TT3D: Closer to the Edge captures all the excitement and characters who contributed to the 2010 event and Im not surprised so many Island residents want to see it on the big screen. I hope by clearing our schedules to make way for more screenings of TT3D, we will be able to accommodate everyone.
Tickets for the TT3D: Closer to the Edge cost £8 for adults and £6 for under 16s and can be booked at the Welcome Centre in Douglas Sea Terminal or on the ticket hotline (01624) 600555.
Please note the film has been given a 15 certificate because it contains strong language. It runs about one hour 43 minutes.
TT3D: Closer To The Edge was directed by Richard de Aragues and was produced by Steve Christian and Marc Samuelson for CinemaNX.
