MEA supporting Agricultural Shows 25 July 2011

The MEA will once again be out and about this summer, supporting the community at both Agricultural Shows.

The Southern Show takes place at Great Meadow, Ballasalla, on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 of July, with the Royal Show held at Knockaloe, Patrick, on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 of August.

Visitors to the MEA marquee will have the chance to enter two free competitions* – the first to win a Fridge Freezer**, kindly donated by Indesit, while the second gives children the chance to win a Nintendo Wii console.

Anyone who visits our marquee, at either of the shows, can collect a voucher*** entitling them to 10% off purchases at any MEA showroom.

Customer Relations Supervisor Claire Teare said: ‘Our Bright Ideas team will be on hand to advise people about saving energy and youngsters can find out all about electricity in our ‘”Kidzone”, which is a regular visitor to schools around the Island.

‘We’ll also have advice from the Electrical Safety Council, about how to stay safe around the home – for both adults and children. And the Dial B4U Dig team will be there, outlining the dangers inherent in excavating any land without checking first with the utilities.

‘The MEA tries to support community events such as the Southern Show and the Royal Show whenever possible. They are both great events, and we’re confident this year’s shows will keep up that tradition – particularly if we can book sunshine for both!’

* Both competitions cover both shows, and the winners will be drawn on 15 August 2011

** Indesit CA55NF fridge freezer

*** Excludes already discounted items/stock. Excludes games consoles, laptops, TVs and e-readers. Valid in any MEA showroom before 5pm on 31 August 2011
