Drainage Improvement Works Main Road, Sulby 22 August 2012

Drainage improvement works are due to commence on the Main Road, Sulby, between the Ginger Hall and the Sulby Bridge. The work starts on 3rd September, and from the 5th September the road will be closed during working hours to allow the work to progress safely. The times of the closure are from 8.30 am until 4.00 pm. which will allow school buses access to take children to and from school. When the road is closed the diversion will be via St Judes.

These works are scheduled to take three weeks and involve the installation of drainage pipes across the road close to the entrance to the Carrick Park Estate. The installation of these pipes will reduce the risk of flooding in the Carrick Park Estate during periods of very heavy rainfall and supplement the installation of the gully system which was installed from the Ginger Hall down to the Carrick Park some months ago.

Once the drainage works are complete the road will be completely resurfaced from the Sulby Bridge around to the Rollick Road. The Department would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their patience in this matter and to assure them that works will proceed as fast as possible to minimise delays.
