TT Visitors Reminded of Hospital Relocation 26 May 2004

The Department of Health and Social Security is to ensure that this year's annual TT visitors are informed about the relocation of Noble's Hospital.

Many TT visitors come here year after year and are probably familiar with the Westmoreland Road site. The DHSS are conscious that this year TT visitors need to be made aware or reminded that Noble's Hospital relocated to Braddan, subsequent to the TT Races in 2003.

Pre TT week and during the week itself, Flyers to include a road map of the route to Noble's Hospital, Braddan, will be distributed to many places on the Isle of Man. Posters will also be displayed to increase the chances that a visitor will be aware of the change.

The DHSS are hopeful that the Steam Packet and Airport will be able to display the poster and Flyers to support efforts to ensure that visitors are informed about the relocation of the hospital, as they arrive on the Island.

Campsites, shops, pubs, and hotels will also be approached to display the credit card size Flyers, which have been designed to fit into wallets or pockets. In addition, announcements will be made on Radio TT and the relocation will be advertised within the TT Supplement.

Minister Clare Christian said:

"The Island's population dramatically increases during the very popular TT period. The Department is aware that some TT visitors may not have visited the Island since the hospital relocation. It is, therefore, very important that every effort is made to inform visitors of the change."

The Department is hoping that in the true Manx spirit, local residents will assist in ensuring that visitors are made aware of the new location of Noble's Hospital and that through the various outlets, TT visitors will be made aware of the relocation, should they need to visit the hospital during their stay.
