Access to New Hospital during MGP 18 August 2003

During road closures of the TT Course for the Manx Grand Prix Practices and Races the TT Access Road from Quarterbridge to Braddan will be the only access to the new Hospital from outside of the Course.

Traffic on the TT Access Road will as usual be controlled by Department of Transport staff. Motorists are requested to obey the new traffic signals. Traffic will be stopped to allow emergency "blue light" ambulances through the Access Road.

In addition a Hospital shuttle bus will operate through the Access Road between Lord Street, Douglas and the New Hospital.

In previous years there has been a build up of traffic at the Groves Road Traffic Signals during road closures.

Motorists from the South of the Island, Foxdale, Anagh Coar and Farmhill are requested to avoid Groves Road, and use the new Road Island Road, from Spring Valley Roundabout, and the Old Castletown Road to travel to and from Douglas during road closures.

Priority will be given at the Groves Road traffic signals to TT Access Road traffic.
