Electronic Payments Talk 15 February 2005

The Isle of Man section of the British Computer Society are to host a talk on electronic payment services and BACSTEL-IP on Thursday 24th February.

BACSTEL-IP provides secure and direct access based on Internet protocols to BACS Direct Debit and Credit payment schemes.

The talk will be presented by Ian Armstrong, Bacstel-IP Manager for Bottomline Technologies Europe Ltd, and will present an overview of the new BACS service including PKI Security, Connectivity and Service Level Agreements (SLA's). Ian will also examine client requirements across both Finance and IT, which should also be of general interest to both Finance and Compliance professionals.

The event is to be held on Thursday 24th February in the Colonnade Suite at the Villa Marina, Douglas with buffet from 6pm and talk commencing 6:30pm until around 7:30pm.

The event is the latest in a series of well attended talks on topics including web accessibility and computer forensics, presented since the formation of the local section last year. Members also enjoyed a tour of the Okells Brewery last month - gaining an insight into the fermentation process and providing their expert opinions of the finished product!

The talk is open to both members and non-members. Admission is free but please confirm attendance by contacting: BCS Isle of Man
