More Homestay homes needed for TT 9 February 2007

Householders considering offering Homestay accommodation for TT are being asked to register their property with the Department of Tourism and Leisure as soon as possible.

The number of homes registered under the Homestay scheme is 300% up on this time last year but more premises are still required. Homestay can be offered for TT for any number of nights between May 26 and June 10.

Tourism and Leisure Minister Adrian Earnshaw commented:

‘I would like to thank all those who have already registered to open up their homes to our visitors in this very special year, the centenary of the TT Races. We do, however, still need more accommodation for the many TT fans visiting the Island this year.
Homestay is a great way for Manx residents to make a little extra money while it also benefits those who otherwise would not be able to visit. I would urge anyone who wants to know more about Homestay to contact my Department on 686802.’

The Department of Tourism and Leisure would ask that existing Homestay providers advise them if they take any bookings, or are full, so they can take their details off the website. Email: or telephone 686802 for further information.
