Final call for Householders to register for TT Homestay 2007 30 April 2007

Householders offering Homestay accommodation for TT are being asked to register their property with the Department of Tourism and Leisure as soon as possible.

Homestay can be offered during TT for any number of nights between May 24 and June 14 inclusive but homes have to be inspected by Department officers before being accepted on the scheme.

A necessary part of this process is to register with the Department of Tourism and Leisure and the terms can be seen on their website

Nearly 1000 properties have already registered with the Department to date, more than double the amount of last year.

Tourism Minister Adrian Earnshaw commented:

‘It is obviously in everybody’s interest to register for the Homestay scheme as this provides cover for public liability insurance at a cost of only £8. Whilst the Department has made great progress in increasing homestay availability we still wish to see more people open up their homes in order to provide accommodation for visitors.’

For further information and to register for the Homestay scheme please call Pippa Gilbert on 686802.
