Warning over removal of TT signage 15 May 2008

Chief Constable Mike LangdonANYBODY caught removing TT signage from around the Mountain Course will be arrested and prosecuted.

It has been brought to the attention of the Isle of Man Constabulary that signs erected ahead of this year’s festival have gone missing.

Chief Constable Mike Langdon, who is also Chief Marshal for TT 2008, stressed that such irresponsible behaviour could have potentially dangerous consequences.

He said:

‘We view this matter in a very serious light and will be adopting a very robust approach in terms of policing. Anybody found to be in illegal possession of TT signage will be arrested and prosecuted. The signs are put in place for the safety of the competitors, spectators, marshals and general public and removing them could result in a serious incident. We will seek to prosecute offenders and hope that the serious nature of this issue would be reflected in the sentences handed down by the courts.’
