Team Agni, TTxGP winners, support Manx GP Helicopter Rescue Fund 17 June 2009

The winning bike from the Inaugural TTxGP was on display in Douglas Town Centre on Monday with the CEO, Managing Director, and inventor of the bike’s electric motor from Agni Motors on hand to answer the many and varied questions from the public. Arvind Rabadia, CEO of Agni Motors, said

“We wanted to thank the Manx people for their kindness and support during our time on the Island and it was suggested that we bring the winning bike down to Douglas Town Centre to raise some money for the Manx Grand Prix Helicopter Fund. The bike was very well received and there was enormous interest from the passing public who kept Cedric Lynch, the inventor of the electric motors, talking for the 3 hours we were there. I am pleased to say we raised £158.00 and I would like to thank Minister John Shimmin for organising this impromptu display at short notice".

The Agni Bike ridden by Rob Barber won the Inaugural TTxGP held on the world famous TT Circuit on Senior Race Day 2009 in a time of 25:53:50 with an average speed of 87.434 MPH.

John Shimmin, Minister for Local Government and the Environment, commented,

“I was very pleased to assist Team Agni in organising this fundraising event, as for me it was an extension of the team spirit and willingness to help each other that was very evident to anyone visiting the TTxGP compound during the TT fortnight”.
