Charlene scoops TT win! 13 October 2009

Charlene Neale’s entry form was drawn from over 1000 entries to win a trip to TT 2010. The competition sponsored by Manx National Heritage and the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company gave visitors to the 50th anniversary Honda exhibition at the Manx Museum a chance to win ferry crossings for 2 riders and 2 motorcycles to next year’s TT.

“Honda: The Golden Age 1959-1967’” ran at the Manx Museum from 30th May to 5th September. The exhibition marked the 50th anniversary of Honda’s arrival at the TT in 1959 and charted the growing involvement of the firm in the 1960s, it reflected Soichiro Honda’s belief that the Isle of Man TT represented the pinnacle of sporting achievement.

Fittingly Charlene and her partner Mick, who live in East Sussex, ride a Honda model CBR 600RR and they had already started planning their trip to TT 2010.

Gaynor Haxby Head of Public Services at Manx National Heritage commented “We are delighted that such a big fan of the TT has won the competition to come to watch the racing in 2010 – and it is very fitting that she rides a Honda! Let’s hope TT 2010 gives Charlene and the rest of the visitors a great fortnight of racing.”

For visitors to the Isle of Man TT races and Manx Grand Prix Races in summer 2010 there will be a special exhibition of Suzuki’s involvement with racing at the Isle of Man TT. This exhibition will include historic Suzuki machinery, archive photos and dramatic racing footage of modern TT racing. The exhibition will open on 28th May 2010 until 4th September 2010.
