TT entertainment 20 April 2011

THE Department of Community, Culture and Leisure is delighted to announce the entertainment line-up at the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre for TT2011.

Actor, adventurer and world biker Charley Boorman will take a pit stop at the Gaiety to stage his hugely entertaining one man show on Friday, June 3rd. With a big video screen and some amazing clips of his adventures - some of which have never been made public - this night with Charley will be one to remember.

Rockabilly blues and fusion singer Imelda May will play the Villa Marina on Tuesday, June 7th and an indie band will round off the week at the Villa Marina on Thursday 9th June.

Live music will also be on offer every night of TT week with a variety of bands performing in the Promenade Suite Saturday June 4 to Friday June 10 including The Heights.

Tickets are now on sale online or from the Villa Marina box office, which is open daily from 9.30am until late.

Additionally, Practice Week kicks off with brilliant local tribute rock band DC/AC in the Villa’s Royal Hall on Saturday 28th May with special guests The Very Very Bad Men.

Hon David Cretney MHK, Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure, said:

‘The TT entertainment line-up hopefully has something for everyone at this year’s festival. There’s the individuality of Imelda May and the major indie music band for music lovers while Charley Boorman promises a hugely entertaining night of anecdotes and some amazing clips of his adventures on a big screen. The object is to add to what we anticipate will be a great buzz and a memorable festival to commemorate the centenary of racing on the Mountain Course.’
