New Deputy Head for Manor Park 13 July 2005 Having visited the Island for many family holidays as a child, Graeme moved here (for what turned out to be permanently) 14 years ago to complete a degree in Marine Biology. Immediately after that he accepted the chance to carry out research on Manx rocky shores as part of a doctorate. After a brief foray off the island to gain a teaching certificate Graeme then returned to teach in the Special Needs department at the Isle of Man College before joining the staff at Rushen Primary School.
Last year Graeme joined the peripatetic supply team where he gained a wealth of experience and was placed in two schools, namely Manor Park and Anagh Coar. Graeme has lived in the South of the island since arriving and have served as part of the crew on Port Erin lifeboat for all of this time. His free time is spent coaching youth teams for Southern Nomads R.U.F.C and whenever, possible, sailing. Graeme says " have learnt a great deal from all of the staff that I have been fortunate enough to work alongside, probably more than they realise, and am looking forward to taking those experiences into my new role." Graeme will take up this post in September 2005 13th July 2005 More stories >>>
