Retirement of Dr. Ian MacLean MB ChB FFPHM, Chief Administrative Medical Officer and Director of Public Health 26 July 2006

Dr Ian MacLeanThe Department of Health and Social Security has announced the retirement of Dr Ian H MacLean MB ChB FFPHM Chief Administrative Medical Officer and Director of Public Health (CAMO/DPH).

Dr MacLean was appointed to the post on 1st June 1998 and came to the Island from Dumfries and Galloway Health Board. During his time as Chief Administrative Medical Officer and Director of Public Health, Ian MacLean gave a high profile to public health matters, including his support for tobacco legislation.

Steve Rodan MHK, Minister for Health and Social Security said,

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr MacLean for his service and I wish him well in his retirement.”

Department of Health and Social Security Chief Executive David Killip said,

“On behalf of his colleagues within the Department, I wish Ian a happy retirement.”
