Sanctions Changes on Customs Web Site 27 July 2006

NEW SANCTIONS NOTICES

CHANGES TO AL-QAIDA AND THE TALIBAN SANCTIONS LISTS

The Customs and Excise Division of the Treasury has replaced all of the Sanctions Notices which detail the United Nations and European Union financial sanctions which it administers. There are now 13 individual Notices dealing with each separate sanctions regime.

These new Notices may be found on a revised page on the Customs and Excise web site which deals with sanctions and export control.

The list of individuals and entities subject to sanctions may be found via links in each Notice.

On 25th July 2006 the UN Sanctions Committee approved a number of amendments to existing entries of individuals and entities included in the Al-Qaida and Taliban sanctions regime.
