Children attending previous half-term education sessions have enjoyed exploring topics such as Forces, Magnets, Light and Colour. This time they will be experimenting with things that ooze, pop, fizz and foam as well as lumpy liquids and squishy solids!

Stephen Lillie, Education Services Assistant for Manx National Heritage, said:

“The aim of these half-term education sessions is to bring scientific ideas to children through simple experiments and games and at the same time to have some great fun. Our half-term sessions have been very popular in the past so be sure to book your place as early as possible by telephoning the Manx Museum on 648000”.

Chemistry Capers will run from Monday 30th October 2006 to Friday 3rd November 2006 inclusive. Children can attend either a morning session, beginning at 10.00am and finishing at 11.30am, or an afternoon session which begins at 1.00pm and finishes at 2.30pm. These sessions are open to children from age 7-11 years approximately.

To book a place on Chemistry Capers, telephone the Manx Museum on 648000. Entry to Chemistry Capers is by pre-booked ticket purchased on arrival at the House of Manannan and priced at £2.50. Entry includes access around the House of Manannan displays once the Chemistry Capers session has finished, for all children who are accompanied by a paying adult.

The House of Manannan is part of the award-winning Story of Mann, and is open to the public daily from 10am to 5pm throughout the year.
