New Isle of Man Holiday Guide 2007 20 November 2006

The Department of Tourism and Leisure is hoping to entice old and new visitors to take a trip to the Isle of Man with the launch of the two part Holiday Guide 2007.

The Guide develops the ‘Freedom to Flourish’ Isle of Man Government brand campaign and features double page colour photographs of the Island, including a cover shot of stunning coastline and Peel Castle. It also includes photographs taken by the Department’s 2006 photo competition winners. The competition once again proved very successful and is open to anyone wishing to enter next year.

Tourism and Leisure Minister David Cretney MHK said: ‘Next year will be another exciting one for tourism and the Guide highlights events such as the two annual Walking Festivals (June and October), the TT Centenary Festival and mountain biking. The Guide is often the first printed information potential visitors receive so it’s important we strike the right balance between heritage and activities, pictures and information'

Director of Tourism Geoff Le Page commented: ‘The two part Guide, produced for the Department by Lily Publications of Ramsey, proved very successful last year when the Department opted for an accommodation and an information guide so that if a visitor intends to take a particular type of holiday we can send them the accommodation guide along with the specific information they require'

Visitors can obtain a free copy of the Isle of Man Guide 2007 by phoning 08457 686868, by emailing tourism@gov.im, or through the website www.visitisleofman.com
