Investigation into Energy Prices 21 February 2007

The Council of Ministers has issued a Report regarding the investigation into energy prices which has been laid before the February sitting of Tynwald.

In September 2005 the Council of Ministers agreed that the Office of Fair Trading should undertake an investigation under Section 19 of the Fair Trading Act 1996 into the price being charged for energy. The period of the investigation was set from 2001 to 2005.

The Report has been produced by OXERA Consulting Ltd on behalf of the Office of Fair Trading, and is divided into four chapters dealing with liquid fuel, gas, electricity and solid fuel respectively. The first two chapters contained in the present Report deal with liquid fuel and gas.
